 • cast actors THE APPROPRIATE AGES (please no adults playing 12-17 year olds, thx) 

 • cast dark-skinned actors for dark-skinned roles (ex: katara & sokka)

okay first off, this post includes SPOILERS so if you have NOT read any of the Avatar comics/The Rift yet, then i suggest you stop reading. now onto the three theories:

1) Satoru may just possibly be Suyin’s father. We know he’s not Lin’s, because her father’s name is Kanto. In The Rift, it is hinted that Toph and Satoru both had crushes/interests on/in each other. Maybe their romance continued to blossom when they were adults, and bam, Suyin Beifong was born.

Pressing further with this suggestion, I would like you to observe the similarities between Su and Satoru’s skin colors & hair. Both have a generally tanner complex and curlier, dark hair.

2) Satoru could possibly be Hiroshi Sato’s father and Asami Sato’s grandfather. Just think about it: the first four letters of his name are Sato and he’s also an engineer and is pretty much a genius. And doesn’t Asami have Fire Nation roots on her dad’s side? (At least, that’s what I’ve believed for a while). Satoru is from the Fire Nation, he ran away as a teenager.

3) Maybe both theories are right, and the reason why Satoru wasn’t around when Su was born was because he’d been married to someone else and had Hiroshi. This theory is a long-shot, but what if?
